Retro Revival Trailers:
Full Custom Builds – Your Vision, Fully Realized
Primo Metal Works’ private label ‘Retro Revival Trailers‘ specializes in handcrafted, turnkey custom trailers built entirely in our shop. We start by fabricating from scratch the trailer frame and chassis and transform it into your dream mobile setup. Drawing inspiration from mid-century classics like teardrop campers, Airstream-style curves, or vintage concession units, we create eye-catching retro exteriors paired with efficient interiors tailored to your business or adventure needs.
Perfect for:
- Startup coffee shops & mobile cafes
- Food vendors (BBQ, ice cream, smoothies, etc.)
- Service businesses (mobile repair, grooming, pop-up retail)
- Hunting, fishing, or overland expedition rigs
- Event setups, mobile bars, or personal use
Key Advantages of Our Full Builds:
- One-Stop Customization: You provide the concept (sketches, colors, features), and we handle design, fabrication, assembly, and finishing.
- Cost-Effective for Startups: By building in-house, we keep prices competitive—often more affordable than big manufacturers while offering true personalization.
- Retro Aesthetic with Modern Reliability: Vintage looks (curved panels, two-tone paint, chrome accents) combined with durable materials, proper insulation, and code-compliant features.
- Road-Ready: DOT-compliant lighting, brakes, axles, and hitches for safe towing.
- Quick & Personal: Small-shop agility means faster turnaround and direct communication.
Our Full Build Process (What We Handle In-House)
- Base Trailer Selection & Frame Fabrication Start with a new or refurbished trailer chassis, or weld a custom frame from steel tubing for exact size/load needs (e.g., single or tandem axle, 2,000–7,000 lb GVWR). We reinforce for stability and add custom tongue/hitch setups.
- Structural Shell & Exterior
- Weld/bend sheet metal (steel or aluminum) for walls, roof, and rounded retro ends.
- Create signature features like curved “teardrop” or bullet profiles.
- Install service doors, concession windows (flip-up or sliding), and access panels.
- Add pop-up awnings, striped canvas accents, or custom signage mounts.
- Interior Layout & Fit-Out
- Frame and install custom counters, cabinets, and shelving (often stainless for food service).
- Rough-in plumbing (sinks, fresh/gray water tanks), electrical (wiring, LED lighting, outlets, inverters), and ventilation (fans, MaxxAir vents).
- Insulate walls/floor/ceiling for temperature control and sound reduction.
- Add flooring (diamond plate aluminum or vinyl) and wall finishes (stainless, FRP panels).
- Specialized Features
- Doors/windows: Custom-sized, weather-sealed, with screens or security bars.
- Pop-up awnings or side extensions for extra shade/serving space.
- Power setups: Generator mounts, solar prep, or shore power hookups.
- Utility additions: Propane compartments, water heaters, grease traps (for food units).
- Finishing Touches
- Two-tone or custom paint jobs with retro color schemes (e.g., white/red, pastel accents).
- Vinyl wraps, hand-painted logos, or metal signage.
- Final testing: Electrical/plumbing checks, weight distribution, brake/ lights inspection.
